1 Our Wines
1.1 What is the alcohol content of Plymouth Bay Winery wines?
Our wines range from 11 to 11.5% ABV. Table wines (less than 14%) do not require ABV to appear on the label.
1.2 How long do Plymouth Bay Winery wines last?
Unopened, our wines can last up to 18 months, provided they are stored in an area with consistent temperature. They are produced to be enjoyed while fresh; the lower alcohol content does not support aging.
Once open, the wine should be sealed and refrigerated. We recommend drinking within 2-3 weeks.
2 Wine Jelly and Sauces
2.1 What is wine jelly?
Our wine jelly is made with our wines. We cover various flavor profiles which offer an array of uses.
The sweeter jellies can be spread on plain or buttered toast, bagel, etc., over cream cheese, and used in breakfast, dessert, cooking and baking applications.
Savory jellies offer flavor depth, and fun, to charcuterie boards, meats and vegetables.
Spicy jellies can be added to charcuterie boards, wing and bbq marinades, and many other dishes.
Wine jellies can be a fun ingredient at the bar! Add a little to the shaker and conjure up your own signature cocktail!
2.2 What is wine sauce?
Our wine sauce is made with our wines. We cover various flavor profiles which offer an array of uses.
The sweeter sauces can be drizzled over breakfast and dessert foods, ice cream sundaes, fruit, etc.
Savory and spicy sauces are delicious salad dressings, wing and bbq marinades, toss into roasted veggies and stir fry, and many other dishes.
Wine sauces can be a fun ingredient at the bar! Add a little to the shaker and conjure up your own signature cocktail!
2.3 What is the shelf life of wine jelly and sauce?
Our wine jelly and sauces are heat-sealed and will last two years properly stored and sealed.
Once opened, they will last months in the refrigerator. We recommend using within six months for best flavor.
2.4 What is the alcohol content of wine jelly and sauce?
The wine jellies and sauces are fully cooked; the alcohol evaporates out in the process. You may detect the flavor of the wine/alcohol, however there is no measurable alcohol remaining. It is safe for all ages!
3.1 How are wines shipped?
We use UPS for all wine shipments. UPS holds the required license and insurance to carry alcohol to the States we are licensed to ship into. Further, we have enjoyed exceptional service and minimal breakage/damage compared to other alcohol carriers we have used in the past.
3.2 Why is UPS so expensive for wine deliveries?
Wine/alcohol shipments require licensing, insurance, special handling, checking recipient's ID and obtaining delivery signatures. There is more time and handling involved, more costs and compliance management, more manpower.
Unfortunately when selecting a carrier on our website, USPS handling does appear, and is less expensive by weight. USPS is not licensed and will not carry alcohol shipments; there are no additional costs for licensing, insurance and compliance management.
3.3 Why don't you ship wines to all United States?
Alcohol laws are different in every State, and require the manufacturer to apply and maintain their license. Some States prohibit alcohol shipments completely, others have 'dry' communities to which we cannot ship.
We evaluate the cost of each State's license with the number of requests to ship into that State. While we would like to ship to more territories, the permits and taxes may be extremely expensive.
3.4 To what States can you ship wine?
Currently we can ship wine into:
Some territories in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C., Washington State, Wisconsin. We have applied to Arizona.
3.5 To what States can we ship wine jellies and wine sauces?
All of them! Since there is no alcohol content, there are no restrictions.
